Natural Sunlight Report 002
ericabogdan.com, my new services, and a 31st birthday recap
Hello seekers,
Welcome to the second edition of the Natural Sunlight Report.
What a week. Thank you for all of the love and support after the rebrand announcement last week. The timing couldn’t feel more correct as we slide into the final weeks of summer, as buttery and worn in as my favorite pair of Birkenstocks.
Let’s get into it!
Announcement! New Site + Menu of Services
I’m soooo excited to share the next phase of my rebrand - my new site + menu of services that combine my superpowers (writing and storytelling) with my passion (connecting and helping you see the world through the magical lens that I do).
Magic Mirror | Personal Storytelling for those ready to move into the next magical phase of their careers.
You’re feeling: Ready for the next step in your career, but overwhelmed by the process. Struggling to put your magic into words. You want to show up authentically, but you don’t know where to start.
Where I come in: I’m here to completely overhaul your resume, cover letter, and personal statements — infusing them with the magic that makes you you so you feel confident seeking out your next role.
Moodboards for Mindset Shifts | For anyone ready to go from daydreaming to living their dreams.
You’re feeling: A gap between how your life feels and how you want it to feel. You want to move forward, but self-doubt or old stories are getting in the way.
Where I come in: using the methodology I developed to define Brightsiding, we’ll spend two 1:1 sessions to help bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. I create two custom moodboards for you to serve as visual anchors - my version of a tarot reading.
I’m also offering these as a package, which you can learn more about here. This is the perfect time to reset your energy as we head into the fall - a season of harvest.
HUGE shoutout to Daniela for once again bringing this all to life in the most beautiful website.
Natural Sunlight Report: Week In Review
Last week I celebrated my 31st birthday in New York. Celebrations began the night before at the Odeon with my brother - every time we’re out at a fancy restaurant I feel so giddy, like we’re still 10 and we’re getting away with some big adventure. Wednesday, my actual birthday, was rainy but lovely. Hannah came over and we ordered Katz’s for lunch before she gave me an epic manicure. Then we braved the rain for Hot Toddy supplies and caviar, smoked a joint on the porch with Colleen, and watched Shakespeare In Love while I played with the best birthday present of all time, compliments of my mom. My favorite birthday tradition is opening my annual care package from Kim, which has a 99.9% success rate of making me cry (hard to do). This year, the highlight was a wine-bottle candelabra that I can’t wait to whip out at a park picnic soon.
On Thursday, Hannah and I drove upstate for a few nights to see our beloved Helen and Alex, then to bask in the musical genius of Bonnie Raitt at Bethel Woods (wow. I highly recommend her interview on Wiser Than Me, by the way). We ate our weight in heirloom tomatoes and Alex’s babaganoush and left with full hearts and bellies. Helen is our college professor-turned Fairy Godmother, and every time we’re together, I find myself trying to trace our past lives, because the bond we share is so infused with magic it feels hard to fully comprehend sometimes.
On Saturday, Hannah and I boogied back into the city and napped so we could stay up past our bedtime to see my friend Mike open for Darude at Webster Hall (ahhhhh!). A friend of a friend was in town from Melbourne and we indoctrinated her into New York with a proper night of espresso martinis before the show, then snuck in to Paul’s Casablanca thanks to Maxine - seeing her work the door makes me feel like I’m in the presence of an honest-to-god New York City socialite.
On Sunday, I was home, soaking up all of the magic of this birthday portal - cleaning up my apartment and listening to podcasts on Color Theory, my latest obsession. If you’re out to drinks with me soon, be careful before engaging me on this topic: it might consume our entire evening.
31 is off to a luscious start. I feel grounded in a way I didn’t last year, like real roots are spreading beneath me. This was a year of following my intuition, even when it made little sense to others (or myself). It was enormously full: from shopgirling at Beverly’s (to this day, my favorite job I’ve ever had), to writing at Gotham, to experimenting with moodboards, to going to freaking JAPAN, to traveling in southeast Asia, to coming home to the hardest-working Spring I’ve ever had, to Paris, to the Pacific Northwest, to a summer full of figuring it out - I complete this lap around the sun with true wonder and awe.
I said to my brother at dinner the other night that life finally feels the way I always wanted it to - heartfelt, connected, and exciting. WHAT A GIFT! I’m excited to see where this year takes me.
Don’t Let Me Buy This
Don’t worry, we’re still out here window-shopping. Holly and I checked out the new Buck Mason in SoHo last weekend and I wanted everything … especially this striped boat neck.

that sweater is tempting......
We're (almost) as excited as you are in bringing all of this newness to life. Looking forward to more and more natural sunlight as we progress into fall...
